Evening Star Over the Harbour

Painted following a trip to the Northumberland coast recently. This is Seahouses harbour and the evening star is Venus, the brightest thing in the sky after the Sun and Moon. It was incredibly bright each morning before dawn over the sea to the east. I turned it into an evening star in the west, one of the advantages of not painting from life. The harbour is full of life usually, with trips to the Farne Isles and small boats fishing for crab and lobster.
